Celebrate Međimurje’s signature white at the Urbanovo wine festival in Štrigova (May 16–18 for the festival; May 23–24 for the open cellars). Pušipel is crisp, floral and made for sipping. If you end up feeling lightheaded, walk it off with a climb to Mađerka hill, where vineyards roll out beneath you and the striking view reaches far into Slovenia and Hungary. 

Tip: Don’t miss St. Jerome church in Štrigova, known for its unique two belfries and striking Baroque architecture.
